KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah held an important meeting with a senior delegation from Foundation Solar Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Fauji Foundation, to advance solar energy initiatives across the province.

The delegation, led by Major General Amjad Ahmed Butt (Retd) and Brigadier Imran, engaged in in-depth discussions with Energy Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Soomro, Director Solar Projects Mahfooz Qazi, and other officials from the Sindh Energy Department.

Key topics included the development of large-scale solar parks, micro and mini solar grids, and the solarization of government buildings. Both parties emphasized the urgent need to transition to clean, renewable energy and highlighted the environmental and economic benefits of green power.

Minister Shah reiterated the Sindh government’s firm commitment to promoting eco-friendly energy solutions. He noted that Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has issued special directives to prioritize renewable energy, with dedicated funds already allocated in the provincial budget.

The meeting concluded with a ceremonial exchange of gifts—Major General Butt presented a commemorative cap and shield to the minister, while Shah honored the delegation with Sindh’s traditional Ajrak and cap.

The engagement marks a significant step forward in accelerating Sindh’s transition to sustainable energy and combating climate change.
